"Winter Takes It All"

 

오늘 페이스북에서 아름다운 바이올린 연주 동영상을 하나 감상했습니다. 제목은 어디선가 들어본 것 같으면서도 새로운, 그리고 꽤 신선한 것이었습니다. "The Winter Takes It All"이란 제목이었습니다. '오, 이렇게도 표현할 수가 있구나!!!'하는 경이로움을 느꼈죠.('정관사까지 붙인 이 겨울은 어떤 걸까?' 궁금하기까지 했습니다.) 스키를 좋아하는 제겐, 겨울이 전부이니까요. 겨울이 모든 걸 다 차지(冬獨食)하는 겁니다.

그리고 8년전에 우크라이나에서 미국으로 이민한 14세의 바이올린 신동, 캐롤리나 프로첸코(Karolina Protsenko)의 연주를 감상했습니다. 캐롤리나는 1,066만 명의 페이스북 페이지( https://www.facebook.com/karolinaprotsenkoviolinist ) 팔로워를 지닌 바이올리니스트이자 가수입니다.(2018년에 가입한 유튜브는 2023년 현재 구독자 799만 명) 그녀의 아버지 닉 프로첸코(Nick Protsenko)는 항상 그녀의 길거리 공연 등에서 동영상을 촬영해 주거나 딸을 위해 기타 반주를 해줍니다.(어머니도 그녀를 위해 키보드 반주를 해주기도 합니다.)  

 

 

 

그.런.데... 이 동영상에서 연주되는 곡은 아바(Abba)의 노래 "위너 테익스 잇 올(The winner takes it all)"이었습니다.^^ 바로 "이긴자가 모든 걸 가진다"는 승자독식(勝者獨食)의 영어판 제목 말입니다.^^ 그제야 '그럼 그렇지............'하는 생각이 들면서 피식 웃게 되더군요.

하지만 닉 프로첸코, 혹은 이 영상을 페이스북에 올린 아킬라 프랭클린(Aquilia God bless Franklin)이 실수로 쓴 그 멋진(?) 제목이 뇌리를 떠나지 않았습니다. "The Winter Takes It All". 저나 겨울을 사랑하는 모든 스키어들에게 잘 어울리는 말이죠.^^ 그래서 이 기회에 그런 생각들을 정리했습니다. 저 같은 골수 스키어들은 모두 같은 생각을 할 겁니다. 이 무더운 한여름에조차도...^^;

겨울을 향한 열정을 불태우는 스키어들에게.
